The Asylum's 2019 "mockbuster," "Monster Island," came out around the same time as "Godzilla: King of the Monsters." It is about an island called Monster Island where a monster lives. The monster is in some ways the island.


Because this movie is about an asylum, it has the same budget as a Monster Island bad movie review big kid’s meal but uses it sparingly. It has a small number of characters that are human and the main actors can all be seen on one set. The Asylum might not do so badly considering that this is a kaiju movie.
